Oni-Con Hawaii

Hawaii’s newest Japanese pop culture convention Oni-Con is set to happen the first weekend in November, Friday-Sunday Nov 1-3.  Oni-Con features the latest in Japanese music, cosplay, anime goods, fashion and more.  Pen & Ink Works along with Hachi Maru Hachi Manga & Short Story Anthology will set up shop in the Artist Alley with a new array of art prints to sell alongside Vols 1 + 2 of HMH’s anthology.  Attention freebie collectors!  Grab an HMH bookmark, choose from one of four designs!

To satisfy your drawing fix stop by our booth and participate in our Infini-Koma or Infinity Panel Manga activity by filling in the gaps from a work-in-progress manga with your own story.  We provide the paper and pencils!  Check out what else will be going on.

Post Kawaii Kon Review

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth in the Artist Alley at Kawaii Kon last weekend.  It was great to be able to sit and chat with so many Kon-goers and we hope all those interested will join us at our upcoming events and workshops!  We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone who purchased our Charity Calendar!  Please stay tuned for an announcement on how much we were able to raise! In the mean time please check out a few photos from the Konvention below.

Just a friendly reminder to join us at our Manga Character Design Workshop run by Tara Tamayori across two sessions on Sundays April 7 + 14 at the Honolulu Museum of Art School.  Class fees are $15 per session and are payable at the workshop with all proceeds to benefit the HMA School. More information can be found on our previous post and the Honolulu Museum of Art website. If you have any questions or would like to be placed on our waiting list please contact us at Be sure to bring your sketchbook!
