The manga and anime community of Hawaii took the Honolulu Museum of Art by storm August 19th.  It was a great day for Family Sunday, made possible through the generosity of Bank of Hawaii allowing the Museum to open its doors to the public free of charge on the third Sunday of every month.

Among the many activities and events, visitors were able to draw with professional and up and coming local comic artists, make their own unique anime-expression head bands, and even check out a few wacky cosplay (anime costume) theatre performances!

Special thanks to all the organizations and individuals who volunteered their time and talents to make this day a memorable one for the community:

Audra Furuichi, Sarah Kashiwabara, Jon J. Murakami, Ming Qi Vinci, Darold Ramelb, Nak Yong Choi, Emperatriz Rivera, Mort Pakhomov, Felice Wong, Roy Chang, Michael Cannon, Stephanie Koelkebeck, Stephanie Leong, Kristin Remington, Tara Tamayori, Rose DelaCruz, Matthew Wells, James Charisma, Lauren Lee & Models, Oahu Anime Explorer, Kawaii Kon, Hawaiian Graphics, Alt/Air, Nikkei Girls, FA9 Cosplay!, students from Farrington High School, and many more!  A big thank you to Heather Matsuura and Honolulu Museum of Art Family Sunday coordinator Seng Phengsavath.

Please enjoy a few photos from the event below:
