JUNE SKETCH-MEET WRAP UP

A big thank you to everyone who came to our most recent Sketch-Meet at the McCully-Moiliili Public Library on Saturday, June 23.  We were happy to see many familiar faces as well as quite a few new ones.  We started out the afternoon with a short drawing demonstration and talk by Senior Pen & Ink Works member Tara Tamayori who showed us how she draws her irresistible ‘chibi’ characters.

Be sure to check back soon for an announcement on our next Sketch-Meet.  In the mean time please have a look at some photos from our meet below.

Interested in spending an art-filled day at a beautiful museum overlooking Honolulu?  Then join us for ArtSpree 2012 at the Honolulu Museum of Art Spalding House on Saturday, July 14.  ARTSPREE is a FREE family-friendly event where the museum opens its doors to the public hosting out-of-the-ordinary entertainment, activities, and of course great food. Pen & Ink Works will be running a Manga Printmaking activity where visitors will be able to create his/her own unique character with a little help from P&IW members.  This event also marks P&IW’s One Year Anniversary!

Getting to ARTSPREE is easy. Visitors can park free at Punahou School and hop on a free shuttle bus, which runs continuously between the school and the museum from 10am to 4:30pm. Visitors can enter Punahou School through the Main Gate, located at the corner of Wilder Avenue and Punahou Street.
