Hawaii’s annual anime convention and conference, Kawaii Kon 2012, has officially wrapped up and we’re slowly recovering from all the excitement of last weekend.  Pen & Ink Works was given our own table in the center concourse  courtesy of Kawaii Kon and we were able to talk with many interested artists who were interested in joining in on P&IW activities and goings on.  A few people even sat and drew with us, what a nice way to spend the afternoon!

Our group also sold quite a few copies of the Limited Edition Kawaii Kon Charity Calendar Project.  We’re still calculating the exact figures but it looks like we were able to raise a nice amount of money to donate to Shriners Hospital for Children Honolulu.  A big thank you to all who stopped by and picked up their poster.  Thank you for supporting not only Shriners but Kawaii Kon and the vibrant anime and manga art community found right here in Hawaii!

Thank you also to the participating artists: Karina Bailey, Rose Dela Cruz, Brady Evans, Hakai, Stephanie Koelkebeck, Stephanie Lau, Stephanie Leong, and Tara Tamayori

Finally, be sure to join us at our upcoming Sketch Meet on Saturday, March 31 from 2-5 pm at Ala Moana Shopping Center.  We’re meeting in front of Shirokiya by the entrance to Macy’s, mall level at 2 pm.  We’ll then walk over to Magic Island at the beach park across the street.  Come down, bring your sketchbook, and see what P&IW is all about!  We’ll be sitting on the grass so please bring a mat or towel if you’d like.  We hope to see you then!
